Fanii Lord of the Rings, franciza creata de J.R.R. Tolkien, vor trebui sa mai astepte pana in 2012 pentru a viziona prima din cele doua parti ale filmului The Hobbit, film regizat de Peter Jackson. Totusi, fanii seriei nu vor fi nevoiti sa astepte atat de mult pentru a juca noul titlu inspirat din universul LotR. Astazi, producatorul Snowblind Studios a anuntat ca Lord of the Rings: War in the North va fi lansat pentru Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 si PC pe 1 noiembrie.
Cand jocul va sosi in magazine in aceasta toamna, va fi disponibil ca editie standard la un pret de 60 de dolari, dar si sub forma de Collector's Edition la un pret de 130 de dolari. War in the North va ajunge in Australia pe 2 noiembrie si in Europa pe 4 noiembrie.
Aflat in momentul de fata in productie de catre Snowblind Studios, LotR: War in the North va contine taramuri, elemente ale povestii si personaje din Middle-Earth nemaiintalnite, precum si elemente familiare din filmele anterioare. Vor fi disponibile arme care pot fi imbunatatite si abilitati speciale care cresc odata cu dezvoltarea personajelor si care pot fi costumizate de catre jucatori.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a role-playing video game in development by Snowblind Studios. It is based on the events taking place in the northern regions of Middle-earth in the background of the main story of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Players will take control of a hero of the war, and will be able to play through the game alone or cooperatively with other players, with the ability to adjust the percentage of experience the co-op partner receives.
The War in The North features three playable protagonists: a man,elf, and a dwarf. Eradan is a male human ranger, he has a fast fighting style and is an excellent archer. Fandriel is a female Elf who specializes in magic techniques. She has a sword and staff for close quarters, can shoot magic bolts as a ranged attack, and she has the ability to use both offensive and defensive magic techniques. Farin is the male dwarf of the party and the primary tank. Farin is heavily armored and strongest at close quarters. He does possess long range axe throwing abilities, but his strength lies in melee.
